摘要: Theradiationisconsideredasadoubleedgedsword,asitsbeneficialanddetrimentaleffectshavebeendemonstrated.Thepotentialbenefitsarebeingexploitedtoitsmaximumbyadoptingsafehandlingofradionuclidestipulatedbytheregulatoryagencies.Whiletheoccupationalworkersaremonitoredbypersonnelmonitoringdevices,forgeneralpublics,itisnotaregularpractice.However,itcanbeachievedbyusingbiomarkerswithapotentialfortheradiationtriageandmedicalmanagement.Anidealbiomarkertoadoptinthosesituationsshouldberapid,specific,sensitive,reproducible,andabletocategorizethenatureofexposureandcouldprovideareliabledoseestimationirrespectiveofthetimeoftheexposures.Sincecytogeneticmarkersshowntohavemanyadvantagesrelativelythanothermarkers,theoriginsofvariouschromosomalabnormalitiesinducedbyionizingradiationsalongwithdose-responsecurvesgeneratedinthelaboratoryarepresented.Currentstatusofthegoldstandarddicentricchromosomeassay,micronucleusassay,translocationmeasurementbyfluorescenceinsituhybridizationandanemergingproteinmarkertheg-H2AXassayarediscussedwithourlaboratorydata.Withthewidechoiceofmethods,anappropriateassaycanbeemployedbasedonthenet. ...
