Eyerubbing-inducedchangesinintraocularpressureandcornealthicknessmeasuredatfivelocations,insubjectswithocularallergy

摘要： AIM:Toassesstheeffectsofeyerubbingoncornealthickness(CT)andintraocularpressure(IOP)measurementsobtained0-30minafterhabitualeyerubbinginsymptomaticpatients.METHODS:MeasurementsofIOPandCTwereobtainedatfivelocations(central,temporal,superior,nasalandinferior)before,andevery5minfor30minintervalafter30sofeyerubbing,for25randomlyselectedeyesof14subjectswithocularallergyand11age-matchednormals.Differencesinmeasurementswerecalculatedineachgroup[Baselinemeasurementsminusmeasurementsrecordedateachtimeintervalaftereyerubbing(forIOP),andforeachcorneallocation(forCT)]andcomparisonwerethenmadebetweengroups(allergicversuscontrol)fordifferencesinanyobservedeffects.RESULTS:Withingroups,baselinemeanIOPsintheallergicpatient-group(14.2±3.0mmHg)andinthecontrolgroup(13.1±1.9mmHg)weresimilaratalltimes,aftereyerubbing(P>0.05,forall).ThemaximumreductioninIOPwas0.8mmHginthecontrolsubjectsandthemaximumincreasewasalso0.8mmHgintheallergicsubjects.Betweengroups(allergicversuscontrol),thechangesinIOPremainedunder1mmHgatalltimes(P=0.2)after30minofeyerubbing.Between0and30minofCTmeasurementsaftereyerubbing,themeancentralCT(CCT),inferiorCT(ICT),superiorCT(SCT),temporalCT(TCT)andnasalCT(NCT)didnotvarysignificantlyfrombaselinevaluesinthecontrolandallergic-subjectgroups(P>0.05,forboth).Betweenbothgroups,changesinCTweresimilaratalllocations(P>0.05)exceptfortheTCwhichwasminimallythinnerbyabout4.4μm(P=0.001)intheallergicsubjectsthaninthecontrolsubjects,30minfollowing30sofeyerubbing.CONCLUSION:IOPmeasuredinallergicsubjectsafter30sofhabitualeyerubbingwascomparablewiththatobtainedinnormalsubjectsatalltimesbetween0and30min.Although,CTintheallergicsubjectsweresimilartothoseofthecontrolsubjectsatalltimes,itvariedbetween+10and-7.5μmfollowingeyerubbing,withthetemporalcorneashowingconsistentreductionsinthicknessinthesubjectswithallergy.However,thisreductionwasminimalandwasconsideredtonotbeclinicallyrelevant. ... （共8页）
