摘要： Wereportonan83-year-oldmalewithtraumaticbraininjuryaftersyncopewithafallinthemorning.Hehadahistoryofseizures,coronaryarterydiseaseandparoxysmalatrialfibrillation(AF).Nomedicalcauseforseizuresandsyncopewasdetermined.Duringrehabilitation,thepatientstillcomplainedofseizures,andalsoreportedsleepinessandsnoring.Sleepapneadiagnosticsrevealedobstructivesleepapnea(SA)withanapnea-hypopnoeaindexof35/h,andsuddenonsetoftachycardiawithvariationsofheartratebasedonparoxysmalatrialfibrillation.AdditionaltestsshowednocturnalAFwhichspontaneouslyconvertedtosinusrhythmmid-morningwithanarrestof5s(sicksinussyndrome)andseizures.ADDD-pacerwasimplantedandnofurtherseizuresoccurred.SAtherapywithnasalcontinuouspositiveairwaypressurewasrefusedbythepatient.OurfindingssuggeststhatscreeningforSAmayofferthepossibilitytorevealcausesofsyncopeandmayintroduceadditionaltherapeuticoptionsasarrhythmiaandSAoftenoccurtogetherwhichinturnmightberesponsiblefortraumaduetosyncopeepisodes. ... （共6页）
